Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
ECU Health Chowan Hospital in Edenton is a 25-bed critical access hospital which provides programs and services to 110,000 people in 6 counties. The facility offers medical and surgical services, including intensive care, a specialty care clinic, and a dedicated outpatient surgery area with endoscopy capabilities. A 7-bed emergency department serves approximately 15,000 patients per year, and team members at the facility have access to a telemedicine link with the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
Job Description
- Provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures.
- Perform procedures, acts, and processes permitted by law for which the individual has received education and clinical experience.
- Complete ARDMS or ARRT (US) registration, which is the standard of practice in Ultrasound.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (or higher).
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- ARDMS or ARRT (US) registration required (physics and one specialty exam AB, OB/GYN) or registry eligible with registration obtained within 12 months of date of hire.
- 0 years of experience as a US technologist (sonographer).
Other Information
- Primary Shift: Day
- 8-hour shifts; 5 days per week and alternate call at nights and weekends.
- Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
- On Call: Yes.
- Weekends: Rotating.
