    Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

    Job Description

    • Participate in nursing reports and take detailed notes
    • Help residents with personal hygiene activities, turning, lifting, and positioning them when needed
    • Assist residents with daily dental and mouth care (i.e., brushing teeth/dentures, oral hygiene, special mouth care, etc.), with bath functions (i.e., bed, bathtub or shower bath, etc.) and with hair care functions (i.e., combing, brushing, shampooing, etc.)
    • Change bed linens and keep linens tight to avoid wrinkles from forming under the resident
    • Assist residents with bowel and bladder functions (i.e., take to bathroom, offer bedpan/urinal, portable commode, etc.)
    • Assist residents in preparing for activity and social programs

    Requirements

    • Valid CNA certification in the state of Indiana
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Compassionate and patient demeanor
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
    • A desire to build meaningful relationships with residents through day-to-day interactions

    Benefits

    • Base pay from $17-$22 per hour, based on experience at $0.25/hour per year up to a maximum of $5.00/hour
    • Shift differential of $1.50/hour and weekend differential of $1.00 on Saturdays and Sundays

    • Lifting: Medium lifting often required to get residents from one location to another (Occasional)
    • Carrying objects: Delivering food trays at mealtime, carrying supplies (Occasional)
    • Hearing: Necessary for communication, emergency alarms, receiving report from staff (Constant)
    • Sight: Necessary for reading pertinent info on residents' clinical records and visual assessments (Constant)
    • Use of hands/fingers: Necessary for monitoring of pulses and assessments (Constant)
