Occupational Therapist (OT)

Job Description

• Provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation to a general rehab caseload.
• Participate in the clinical team process and provide teaching and training to caregiver staff.
• Involvement in clinical program development and supervision of other licensed therapists, assistants, technicians, aides, and students as required.
• Screen patients/residents and evaluate them to develop appropriate care plans.
• Under a physician's order, provide direct patient/resident treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
• Contribute to team meetings and decision-making processes as defined by the program.
• Provide consultation and training to patients, residents, families, and caregivers.
• Document activities according to the company's clinical documentation system on a timely basis.
• Communicate effectively with patients/residents, families, caregivers, team members, customers, and supervisors.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate courtesy, compassion, and respect to all individuals.

Requirements

• Must be a graduate from an accredited OT / Occupational Therapist / OTR program.
• Must possess a current license in the practicing state as OT / Occupational Therapist / OTR.
• Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
• Must possess strong knowledge regarding state, federal, and local regulations as they pertain to long-term care.
• Must meet health assessment requirements, including a two-stage Mantoux skin test.
• Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
