Occupational Therapist (OT)

Job Description
- Provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation to a general rehab caseload.
- Participate in the clinical team process and provide teaching and training to caregiver staff.
- Involvement in clinical program development and supervision of other licensed therapists, assistants, technicians, aides, and students as required.
- Screen patients/residents and evaluate them to develop appropriate care plans.
- Under a physician's order, provide direct patient/resident treatment in accordance with an established plan of care.
- Contribute to team meetings and decision-making processes as defined by the program.
- Provide consultation and training to patients, residents, families, and caregivers.
- Document activities according to the company's clinical documentation system on a timely basis.
- Communicate effectively with patients/residents, families, caregivers, team members, customers, and supervisors.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and demonstrate courtesy, compassion, and respect to all individuals.
Requirements
- Must be a graduate from an accredited OT / Occupational Therapist / OTR program.
- Must possess a current license in the practicing state as OT / Occupational Therapist / OTR.
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
- Must possess strong knowledge regarding state, federal, and local regulations as they pertain to long-term care.
- Must meet health assessment requirements, including a two-stage Mantoux skin test.
- Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
