    Job Description:

    • The department currently employs three full-time cardiologists, two of whom specialize in non-invasive cardiology and one in interventional cardiology.
    • There are two physician assistants currently at the practice, one full-time and one part-time, with plans to add a third full-time position due to increased volume.
    • An EP sees patients at the clinic one day per week and performs procedures.
    • The practice runs a pacemaker clinic once weekly.
    • The practice is located directly across the street from the hospital, allowing for easy access between inpatient and outpatient settings.
    • Non-invasive cardiologists rotate weekly between inpatient and outpatient services, supplemented by the physician assistants.
    • Hospital services include rounding/consults, TEE procedures, stress tests, echoes, and EKGs.
    • Medical call is divided among the non-invasive cardiologists, with some supplementation by locums for weekend coverage.
    • Physician assistants provide some weekend rounding as well.
    • The interventional cardiologist is well-known throughout the region for exemplary care and has been with the practice since 2016. The medical cardiologists have both been with the practice since 2019.
    • Both physician assistants have been with the practice for several years, working under the guidance of the cardiology physician team.
    • The outpatient practice currently uses Epic as their EMR system.
    • The hospital is using Paragon Allscripts, with a planned transition to Epic in the future.
    • Many other specialty service lines are available through UPMC both onsite and regionally.
    • Some of the locally available services include Pulmonary Medicine, Pain Management, Orthopedic Surgery, General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Neurology, ENT, Urology, Gynecology, and UroGyn services. Services via telemedicine include Rheumatology, Endocrinology, and Neurosurgery.
    • Other services currently include medical oncology, an on-site sleep lab, two cardiac catheterization laboratories, physical therapy, occupational health, and home health services, among many more.
