Job Description:
- Performs a variety of diagnostic cardiac/vascular exams under the direction of a physician for the identification of abnormalities leading to patient diagnosis.
Posting Specifics:
- Entry Rate: $37.46 + depending on experience

- Shift Details: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Job Essentials:
- Must demonstrate technical competence for performance protocols specific to the department.
- Prioritizes and schedules exams, coordinates with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers, and patients.
- Prepares for exams by following patient identification processes, educating patients and families, and transporting patients. Performs ultrasound exams consistent with related protocols and ensures patient safety and comfort.
- Mentors caregivers and students on basic equipment use and procedural techniques.
- Ensures patient stability and safety after exams. Communicates and coordinates patient care with physicians, caregivers, patients, and families.
- Documents exam results and other needed information accurately. Charges for exams and supplies.
- Cleans and maintains equipment and work area, stocks supplies, and coordinates repairs as needed. Supports team and quality improvement processes.
- Participates in educational opportunities to maintain clinical competence and develop additional skills.
Requirements:
- ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- One of the national registry credentials through ARDMS, ARRT, or CCI as applicable to the department.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
Physical Requirements:
- Ongoing need to see and read information, assess patient needs, and operate monitors.
- Frequent interactions requiring verbal communication and understanding of spoken information.
- Manual dexterity to manipulate equipment with precision, including frequent computer use.
- Expected to lift, retrieve, and carry supplies and equipment of varying weights.
- Need to walk, assist with transporting patients, and navigate crowded rooms.
- May be expected to stand for extended periods.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
Salary Range:
- $37.46 - $57.80 per hour
