    Job Description:

    • The CT Tech performs a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
    • Uses ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgment to perform high-quality scans.

    Essential Functions:

    • Maintains ARRT competency in all clinical and technical functions.
    • Operates CT equipment and related systems to ensure quality images.
    • Ensures proper patient identification and prepares the patient for the exam.
    • Performs exams per department protocol.
    • Reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy.
    • Adheres to radiation safety guidelines.
    • Completes studies within time limitations without compromising care.
    • Provides patient education and ensures comfort.
    • Coordinates patient care and communicates with other providers.
    • Practices infection control and sterile techniques.
    • Keeps accurate records of procedures and any incidents.
    • Administers contrast media under supervision per protocol.
    • Stays updated with advancements in CT technology and participates in continuing education.
    • Assists and instructs students and other technologists.

    Skills:

    • Understanding of sectional anatomy, anatomic terminology, and positioning.
    • Proficiency in operating CT equipment and understanding imaging techniques.
    • Knowledge of protocols for contrast administration.
    • Proficiency with electronic imaging and image manipulation.
    • Ability to recognize emergent patient situations and respond appropriately.
    • Ability to function independently and as part of a team.
    • Effective communication with caregivers and patients.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks and maintain a safe environment.

    Requirements:

    • ARRT Certification Upon Hire
    • BCLS within 60 Days
    • IV Certification within 60 Days
    • Relevant state licensure Upon Hire
    • Fluoroscopy License (for Colorado) Upon Hire
    • Must complete controlled substance and moderate sedation modules within 30 Days (where applicable)
    • Specific facility-based certifications may be required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 1-2 years of CT experience
    • Experience in a healthcare setting

    Physical Requirements:

    • Need to see and read information, assess patient needs, and operate monitors.
    • Frequent communication with providers, patients, and visitors.
    • Manual dexterity for equipment operation and computer use.
    • Expected to lift and transfer patients, retrieve and carry supplies.
    • Need to walk and assist with transporting patients and equipment.
    • May stand in a stationary position for extended periods.
    • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle.

    Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36

    The hourly range for this position is $31.92 - $47.77, dependent upon experience.
