Regional Medical Director
Location: Arizona, Colorado, California, and Nevada
Job Description:
- Operate outpatient clinics specializing in acute injury care within an Occupational Medicine setting
- Collaborate with medical and operations leadership to ensure high-quality patient care
- Lead and mentor a team of healthcare providers
- Collaborate with senior leadership to support clinical integration and develop functional strategies
- Supervise clinical staff to ensure optimal performance
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Ensure adequate staffing for clinical shifts and recruitment of new providers
- Onboard, train, coach, supervise, and discipline providers
- Mentor providers to meet Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets
- Monitor provider productivity and compliance with KPIs
- Manage locums pool and PRNs for coverage gaps
- Work collaboratively to adopt standards, policies, and procedures for patient care improvement
- Consult on patient care and customer service issues within a multidisciplinary team
- Ensure accurate and timely clinical charting and documentation
- Assist with medical staff audits for compliance
- Maintain current knowledge-base and licensure
Clinical Process Improvement and Efficiency:
- Evaluate clinical flow and EMR utilization to form best practice procedures
- Develop training materials for staff adherence to best practices
- Coordinate with Clinic Operations leadership for clinical staff support
- Design, implement, and re-evaluate medical/clinical protocols
Clinical Treatment:
- Perform medical assessments of center patients 60% of the time
- Establish and monitor medically appropriate care levels
- Maintain clinical core competency
Communication:
- Maintain effective and positive relationships with client companies, agencies, and vendors
- Collaborate with Sales/Marketing to drive business to centers
- Participate in clinic tours and employer onsite visits
- Troubleshoot and resolve problems with client companies and agencies
- Communicate effectively with all levels of staff
Requirements:
- Valid and unrestricted California Medical Board MD or DO license
- Current DEA registration and minimum of BLS certificate
- Competency in Occupational Medicine evaluation and treatment
- High level of professionalism and communication skills
- Ability to complete and maintain records using electronic health record systems
- General computer skills and current state driver's license
Work and Location:
- Travel as needed to evaluate clinical processes
