    OBGYN Locum Tenens

    Join our team as an OBGYN locum tenens provider. This position involves 24-hour shifts in-house, covering gaps while we recruit for permanent staff.

    Job Description

    • These are 24-hour shifts in-house.
    • Reason for coverage: Gaps while we recruit.
    • Dates of coverage: ASAP possible until early 2025 TBD.
    • Looking for 2 locums to cover 15-18 twenty-four hour shifts per month. Shifts include weekends and holidays.
    • Practice setting: OBGYN-Family Life Center-Labor and Delivery / Hospital ED and OR coverage. No outpatient or elective surgeries. Possibility of or open to all practice settings if mutually agreeable.
    • Total number of beds: 16 beds - 6 labor/10 postpartum.
    • Number of physicians in practice: 4.
    • Other OB/GYNs will provide coverage during locums coverage dates.
    • How many APPs provide coverage: 10.
    • Onsite lab and ultrasound available.
    • Office equipment: Full complement of supplies.
    • Support staff: Full complement - RN, CNMs, 24-hour Peds, Anesthesia, and surgical PAs available on site.
    • Percentage of practice that is low-risk pregnancy: 100%.
    • Percentage of practice that is high-risk pregnancy: 0%.
    • Percentage of practice that is GYN: 15% GYN emergency coverage only.
    • Percentage of patients that are C-section: 25%.
    • Average number of nursery admissions per day: 2 per day.
    • Nursery level: Level One Nursery.
    • Documentation system/EMR: Meditech.
    • Trauma level/designation: None, community-based hospital.
    • Client will reimburse for full travel if needed.

    Requirements

    • Required obstetrics procedures:

      • Low-risk pregnancy (i.e., history of twins, toxemia, pyelonephritis, etc.).
      • FHR interpretation NST/CST/FSE, OB ultrasounds.
      • Performance of interpretation, OB ultrasounds.
      • Performance of Level I/screening (viability).
    • Labor and delivery required procedures:

      • Routine delivery vaginal, low forceps, decision-making for C-section, complicated delivery C-section, breech, multiple births, abruptions, etc., VBACs, repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations.
    • Gynecology required procedures:

      • D&C, surgical gynecology open, laparoscopic diagnostic/minor only - tubal ligation.
      • LOAs, chromal tubation, operative/major (includes diagnostic) ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOAs.
