Locum Radiation Oncologist

We are seeking a Locum Radiation Oncologist to help with ongoing coverage starting October 2024 through summer 2025.

Job Description

• Practice setting: inpatient and outpatient
• Reason for coverage: gaps while we recruit
• Dates of coverage: October 2024 through summer 2025
• Call ratio: every other week
• Number of physicians in practice: 2
• Other radiation oncologists present during locum tenens coverage: yes
• Number of APPs providing coverage: 1
• Average number of patients per day - outpatient (clinic/office): 25
• Average number of patients per day - inpatient (call/rounding): variable, 1 per week
• Patient population for required coverage: adult, office/clinic, hospital-based
• Documentation system/EMR: Meditech/Mosaiq
• Estimated credentialing timeframe: approximately 60 days
• Provider must be local; only mileage is reimbursed

Requirements

• Required procedures:

  • Conventional radiotherapy
  • 3D radiotherapy
  • 3D conformal, IMRT, SBRT, and SRS (no brachy needed)
  • External beam radiation - 3D-CRT
  • External beam radiation - IGRT
  • External beam radiation - IMRT
  • Stereotactic radiosurgery
  • Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT)
  • Fractionated stereotactic radiotherapy

• Required duties:

  • Orders tests
  • Orders images
  • Prescribes
