Job Description
- The primary responsibility of a Multi-Modality Technologist is to perform and produce images for any combination of 2 procedures with related techniques, such as CT, XR, or MRI.
- Performs duties for any 2 imaging modalities, such as XR, CT, MRI, ARRT, or RDMS.
- Safely operate equipment and accessories to minimize risk to patients and equipment.
- Select appropriate imaging and sequences in alignment with multiple factors.
- Knowledge in workflows, procedures, and processes of the imaging modalities.
- Perform venipuncture including starting, maintaining, and removing intravenous access.
- Provide radiation protection and other protection specific to the modalities.
- Obtain and verify the patient clinical history and lab work.
- Use of POC device for lab work.
Requirements
- Associate's degree from an ARRT accredited institute for an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or an approved School of Ultrasound/Medical Sonography (preferred).
- Associate of Applied Science in Imaging (preferred).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (preferred).
- State Licensure Certification (preferred or required by the state where the job is being performed).
- Registration with ARRT or RDMS or CNMT (required).
- Required to be competent in 2 of the following and obtain certification within 12 months:
- Bone Densitometry (BD)
- Breast Sonography (BS)
- Radiologic Technology (R)
- Computed Tomography (CT)
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR)
- Ultrasonography (S)
- Nuclear Medicine (N)
- Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV)
- Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI)
- Cardiac Sonographer (CS)
- Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI)
- Mammography (M)
- Vascular Sonography (VS)
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
Experience
- 1 year of experience in a healthcare environment (preferred).
Training
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred).
- Picture archiving communication system (PACS) (preferred).
- Radiology Information System (RIS) (preferred).
- IV Contrast Administration (preferred).
