Job Description
- The General and Vascular Imaging Ultrasound technologist is responsible for the day-to-day operations (patient flow) and efficiency of the ultrasound department.
- Must have knowledge of all areas within the Ultrasound Department.
- Must utilize the principles of continuous quality improvement in collaboration with other health team members.
- Performs ultrasound examinations according to the currently accepted practices of the ARDMS and Northwest Texas Healthcare System.
- Prepares technical reports, exam rooms, equipment, and supplies for procedures.
- Performs a variety of technical procedures.
- Assists Radiologist and Staff Physicians with tests.
- Demonstrates ultrasound echo/vascular skills needed for all positions.
- Demonstrates good patient care.
- Utilizes appropriate leadership skills in supervising students and providing feedback concerning student performance.
- Demonstrates good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Acts as a professional role model for personnel.
- Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and employees.
- Assesses risks to patient safety and implements appropriate precautions.
- Complies with appropriate and approved standards relating to patients, infection control, and environmental issues.

Qualifications
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Current CPR certification required.
