    Pediatrician

    Join our dynamic team as a Pediatrician under the general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer. This position provides primary care to patients ranging in age from birth to 21 years and works as part of a care team that practices evidence-based medicine in a Patient-Centered Medical Home model of care. The role includes clinical leadership and supervision of mid-level providers.

    Job Description

    • Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for pediatric patients.
    • Obtains and documents appropriate chief complaint, past medical, family and social history, review of systems, examination, medications and allergies, assessment and plan for each patient within the electronic medical record.
    • Provides medical orders for prescription refills, administration of medications, ancillary testing, and/or referrals within electronic medical record as per policy.
    • Reviews ancillary test results and coordinates notification to the patient as per policy.
    • Educates parents of pediatric patients in disease management and prevention.
    • Completes appropriate chart documentation within EHR to comply with insurance and reimbursement guidelines.
    • Completes all required documentation within EHR in a timely manner as per policy.
    • Participates in on-call pediatric schedule.
    • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
    • Supervises assigned mid-level providers in the conduct of clinical care and delegates authority when and where needed.
    • Reviews patient charts of any assigned mid-level provider to check for quality of care.
    • Works with other clinical staff to establish clinical protocols and measures.
    • Reviews mid-level patient medical records as per policy.
    • Follows established agency policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
    • Establishes, strengthens, and negotiates relationships between the health center and other clinicians, provider organizations, and providers in this marketplace.
    • Maintains appropriate licensure and certification including meeting and/or exceeding CME requirements.
    • Attends all staff and provider meetings as requested.
    • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
    • Supports the mission of PATHS.

    Requirements

    • Graduation from an accredited school of medicine.
    • Hold current license to practice in the state of Virginia.
    • Current DEA certificate.
    • Board Certification in Pediatrics.
    • CPR Certified.
    • Experience in Pediatrics: 1 year (Preferred).
    • Medical License (Preferred).
