    Locums - OB/GYN Hospitalist

    Join our dynamic team as an OB/GYN Hospitalist in Webster, Texas. This position offers an opportunity to work at multiple hospitals with a focus on providing high-quality obstetric care.

    Job Description

    • Provide care as an OBGYN Laborist at 7 hospitals.
    • Availability for consultations on all obstetric hospital patients in the Emergency Department or any hospital-owned clinic.
    • Coordinate transport of acute or critically ill obstetric patients to or from other facilities as necessary.
    • Provide surgical assist services to the hospital's obstetrics/gynecology physicians.
    • Coverage of the hospital's obstetrical triage unit to evaluate patients presenting with acute symptoms or signs of labor.
    • Active awareness of all patients on the units (L&D, antepartum, postpartum, or OBED) and respond to emergencies.
    • Evaluate all unassigned obstetrical and gynecology patients who present with unscheduled, problem visits.
    • Manage unassigned obstetrical patients from admission to discharge.
    • Deliver patients when assigned community obstetricians/physicians are unable to attend the delivery.
    • Respond to managing patients in all emergent situations until assigned community obstetrician/physician arrives.
    • Accept care for transferred patients and coordinate transport of acute or critically ill obstetric and/or gynecology patients.
    • Willing and ready to assume care, deliver, and manage MFM patients as clinically indicated.
    • Assist assigned community obstetricians/physicians and midwives with complicated deliveries, including TOLAC management.
    • Provide consultative support throughout the hospital when an obstetrical consult is requested.
    • Consult for unassigned gynecology patients throughout the hospital as requested.
    • Surgical management of unassigned gynecology patients.
    • Partner with nursing staff to ensure operational efficiency in the OBED.
    • Engage in departmental quality improvement activities and assist the hospital with compliance with accreditation standards.
    • Document timely in electronic medical records.
    • First assist on cesarean sections for assigned community obstetricians/physicians as safely available.
    • Conduct H&P exams on all unassigned patients admitted.
    • Assess and evaluate treatment for obstetrical inpatients with opioid use disorders and coordinate care with local providers.
    • Support the hospital in coordinating and scheduling cesarean sections and other OB/GYN procedures.
    • Respond to and participate in obstetric cases requiring activation of massive transfusion protocol.
    • Provide quality customer service to patients, families, and staff, and participate in hospital initiatives to improve patient experience scores.
    • Maintain requisite knowledge and skill to ensure proficiency in fetal heart monitoring, including regular training.

    Requirements

    • Minimum 5 years of OB experience required.
    • Maternal Level II, III, IV, and NICU Level II, III, IV experience preferred.
