Associate Clinical Research Coordinator

This full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to the Chicago Health and Aging Project (CHAP), focusing on postmortem brain donations and Alzheimer's Disease research.
Job Description
- Consent participants for postmortem brain donations to the Chicago Health and Aging Project (CHAP).
- Maintain communications with research participants' families, funeral homes, and pathologists.
- Recruit, consent, screen, schedule, track, and provide study updates to participants throughout the study.
- Collect and enter data into study case report forms and/or electronic data capture systems.
- Submit or coordinate the submission of study-related documents and protocols to the IRB.
- Maintain accurate procedural documentation in compliance with clinical research guidelines.
- Collect, process, and ship potentially biohazardous specimens.
- Administer structured tests and questionnaires according to research protocols.
- Provide ongoing study status updates and respond to inquiries from various stakeholders.
- Organize and participate in auditing and monitoring visits.
- Communicate unanticipated problems such as protocol deviations and adverse events.
- Collaborate with PIs, sponsors, compliance, and clinical staff to improve research processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 1 year of clinical research experience or 5 years of clinical research experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Good Clinical Practices and Good Documentation Practices.
- Knowledge of current NIH and/or FDA regulations related to clinical research.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain confidentiality with diverse participants.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Availability to work evenings, overnight, and weekends as needed.
- Travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Sciences or a health-related discipline.
- Prior participant contact experience.
- Experience working on studies that consent participants for postmortem brain donations.
Rush offers exceptional rewards and benefits. Pay range is $23.12 - $36.41 per hour, determined by factors including education, job-related experience, skills, internal equity, and market data.
