Job Description

• To administer and document inhalers, eye drops, ear drops, oral, rectal, and topical medications under the supervision and guidelines of the Charge Nurse.
• Assist in providing for the residents' physical, mental, spiritual, psychological, and social needs under the supervision, guidance, and teaching of the Charge Nurse.

Requirements

• The Trained Medication Aide must be registered with the Minnesota Department of Health as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
• Must have successfully completed the 48-hour approved Minnesota Trained Medication Assistant Course.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or ability to become certified within six months of hire date.
• Board of Nursing approved Trained Medication Aide (TMA) training in state of practice required.
