Paramedic

Job Description:

• Provide advanced medical care to patients in emergency situations.
• Assist and direct additional Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responders at the scene and during transport.
• Assess and provide emergency care to adults, infants, and children, determining transport to appropriate facilities.
• Administer additional care as indicated or directed by medical personnel during transport.
• Utilize medical equipment and document patient condition and treatment accurately.
• Demonstrate effective communication with receiving facilities and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Assist with patient care in receiving facilities and provide educational support for students.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in Paramedic Technology preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of paramedic principles, practices, and equipment.
• Hold national registry status at a Paramedic level and state licensure as required.
• Current certifications in BLS, PHTLS, ITLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP preferred depending on location.
• Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.

Professional Development:

• Attend training classes to maintain national certification and state licensure.
• Participate in additional training, workshops, and staff meetings as per policy.

Work Conditions:

• Physical activities including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling materials.
• Work hours may include overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
