    Clinical Supervisor

    Job Description

    • Responsible for the successful operation of the counseling function on the units including identifying counseling goals/priorities and providing the leadership necessary for their accomplishment
    • Administratively supervises and develops counseling staff
    • Ensures compliance with agency contractual obligations and operating functions relating to the counseling function
    • Screens direct admission referrals for appropriateness and coordinates admissions
    • Completes monthly counselor and recovery specialist schedules
    • Assists with corrective behavioral meetings and administrative discharges with clients
    • Provides shared on-call coverage for Detox Unit
    • Develops and implements the clinical program
    • Reviews Comprehensive Assessments, treatment plans, and discharge summaries for clinical appropriateness and approval
    • Provides clinical supervision of counselors
    • Interviews, hires, and orients counseling staff
    • Prepares counseling staff schedules
    • Supports and encourages staff education and development
    • Assigns counselor caseloads and schedules client groups
    • Acts as liaison with referring agencies when necessary
    • Other duties as required

    Requirements

    • Master's Degree required
    • LADC1, LCSW, LICSW, or LMHC required
    • Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a counselor in the field of substance abuse
    • Minimum 2 years' supervisory experience preferred
    • Effective in engaging clients
    • Demonstrated administrative and program planning skills
    • Commitment to working in the field of substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders
    • Strong organizational and documentation skills
    • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
    • Certification in Addiction Counseling preferred
