    Job Description:

    • Join a 30-bed critical care unit specializing in medical and pulmonary diagnoses.
    • Work with a growing oncology patient population, developing oncology critical-care subspecialty skills.

    Summary:

    Responsible for assisting professional caregivers in delivering patient care, transporting patients/equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and performing clerical and maintenance tasks at the patient care unit desk.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist physicians and healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures.
    • Review patient care documentation for significant changes and report them to a registered nurse or physician.
    • Perform clerical tasks, including organizing workload, directing visitors, researching information, reviewing orders, answering calls, and maintaining medical records.
    • Provide clinical support, clean work areas, maintain office equipment, troubleshoot problems, change linens, check inventory, and assist in orienting new employees.
    • Offer direct personal care, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and monitoring vital signs.
    • Reinforce patient instructions and distribute educational materials.

    Requirements:

    • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
    • Licensure/Certification: Listed as a Nursing Assistant I by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Service; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • Experience: Prefer six months of clerical or customer service experience.
    • Skills: Fluent in English; capable of developing computer skills.
