    Observation Medicine - Medical Director

    Join our team as the Medical Director for the Observation Unit at Houston Methodist Hospital. This position offers the opportunity to lead a high-volume observation unit within a top-ranked hospital known for its patient-centered care.

    Job Description

    • Oversee day-to-day management of the unit
    • Provide leadership in the operations of the unit
    • Responsible for peer review, quality assurance, and provider staffing
    • Assure quality patient experience by managing protocols and complaints
    • Practice clinically

    Requirements

    • Board certified in Emergency Medicine
    • A minimum of 3 years experience caring for hospital-based patients
    • Previous administrative experience desirable

    Administrative Responsibilities

    • Lead and organize all meetings to represent the Observation Unit
    • Responsible for the supervision of the onsite Physician Staff by managing the day-to-day responsibilities of these clinicians
    • Report to the National Director of Observation Services
    • Maintain improvement plans for any area not meeting expected benchmarks
    • Investigate quality referrals from the hospital quality committee
