Observation Medicine - Medical Director
Join our team as the Medical Director for the Observation Unit at Houston Methodist Hospital. This position offers the opportunity to lead a high-volume observation unit within a top-ranked hospital known for its patient-centered care.
Job Description
- Oversee day-to-day management of the unit
- Provide leadership in the operations of the unit
- Responsible for peer review, quality assurance, and provider staffing
- Assure quality patient experience by managing protocols and complaints
- Practice clinically
Requirements
- Board certified in Emergency Medicine
- A minimum of 3 years experience caring for hospital-based patients
- Previous administrative experience desirable

Administrative Responsibilities
- Lead and organize all meetings to represent the Observation Unit
- Responsible for the supervision of the onsite Physician Staff by managing the day-to-day responsibilities of these clinicians
- Report to the National Director of Observation Services
- Maintain improvement plans for any area not meeting expected benchmarks
- Investigate quality referrals from the hospital quality committee
