    Primary Care Physician (MD/DO)

    Job Description:

    • Diagnose and treat diseases and injuries of human internal organ systems.
    • Deliver preventive and therapeutic treatment for primary care needs, including chronic disease management.
    • Perform routine physical examination testing and non-invasive treatments.

    Contract Details:

    • Full Time position at Fayetteville VA Medical Center.
    • 52-week assignment with a high chance to extend or be converted to permanent.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Actively diagnose and treat veterans.
    • Examine patients for symptoms of organic or congenital disorders.
    • Perform comprehensive physical examinations and refer to diagnostic tests.
    • Develop and implement patient management plans.
    • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including x-rays and laboratory tests.
    • Prescribe medication and recommend dietary and activity programs.
    • Refer patients to VA medical specialists when necessary.
    • Counsel patients on the use of prescription medications.
    • Evaluate patients' records from medical providers outside the VA.
    • Complete clinical reminders and documentation within 24 hours of patient encounters.
    • Comply with VA guidelines for patient responses and clinical documentation.
    • Address clinical needs of walk-in/triage/urgent care patients.
    • Provide cross-coverage for other providers as needed.
    • Comply with VA and company training requirements.

    Qualifications:

    • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.
    • Completion of an accredited residency program in family or internal medicine.
    • 5 years of chronic disease management experience post-residency.
    • Current, active, full, and unrestricted medical license in any state.
    • Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Preventive Medicine.
    • Maintain all requirements for a valid, unrestricted medical license.
    • Current certification in Basic Life Support and ACLS if required.
    • Current, unrestricted DEA registration.
    • Annual PPD test.
    • Compliance with federal, state, and local vaccine mandates.
    • Proficiency in English and excellent computer skills.
