Job Description

• The Site Medical Director has broad latitude for independent judgment and initiative and is an integral part of the medical team at their facility.
• Expected to take a leading role in the delivery of healthcare services to our patients.
• No nights, no weekends, no holidays, and no on-call.
• Will be required to work within a correctional facility.
• Ensures medical record documentation is in COMS format, problem-oriented, and corresponds to the therapeutic order.
• Ensures all documentation is timed, legible, and signed.
• Ensures all verbal or telephone orders are countersigned within seventy-two (72) hours.
• Adheres to approved formulary for therapeutic regimens before utilizing non-formulary procedures.
• Documents pertinent observations and logical conclusions to validate the need for non-formulary medication on non-formulary request form for Medical Director's approval when non-formulary medication is ordered.
• Serves as a resource to other professional or non-professional personnel providing instructions as needed.
• Attends medical staff meetings as required.
• Other duties as requested by the Regional Medical Director.
• Licensed physician in the state of employment.
• Current DEA registration.

Job Types

Pay

• $125.00 - $135.00 per hour.

Expected Hours

• 40 per week.

Schedule

• 4-hour shift, 8-hour shift, day shift, Monday to Friday.

License/Certification

• Medical license (required).
