**Surgery Veterinary Technician**

VCA Animal Care Clinic in El Sobrante, CA is seeking an experienced Surgery Veterinary Technician to join our team. We are located just north of Oakland and east of San Francisco, CA.

**Job Description**

- Conduct surgery with our patients, as well as set up and assist our doctors with surgeries.
- Support technician and doctor teams by creating a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients.
- Win the confidence of every pet parent by delivering an outstanding client experience to provide exceptional care to every patient.
- Perform physical examinations and patient assessments.
- Monitor anesthesia.
- Prepare for and assist in surgeries.
- Conduct prophylactic cleaning.
- Perform dental radiology.
- Prepare laboratory samples.
- Place catheters and draw blood.
- Conduct US cystocentesis.
- Oversee patient recovery and provide compassionate care for hospitalized animals.
- Manage discharging of patients.

**Requirements**

- Experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician with surgical and anesthesia experience is preferred.
- If not currently registered/certified, VCA offers routes to obtain your license.
