We are seeking a Director of Nursing to oversee administrative operations and provide oversight to nursing staff at our 42 bed skilled nursing facility located in Gardner, KS. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the daily needs of a skilled nursing facility and be well versed in federal and state regulatory processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will ensure nursing staff are trained in delivering proper care, the facility is staffed successfully, and the facility is always compliant. A successful candidate will be an energetic and strong leader who is capable of being both sympathetic and authoritative and good at setting boundaries with staff and patients alike. Responsibilities: Train and educate all nursing staff. Arrange and host nursing staff in-services and in-person skill competencies. Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Be capable of handling multiple issues at once. Understand the regulatory issues facing a long-term care facility. Have adept interpersonal and communication skills. Manage the hiring, disciplining, and firing of the nursing staff. Be available to speak to patients and families on an intimate level. Run and direct the clinical survey process.
