We are excited to set a new standard for health and wellness in Lenawee County. POSITION SUMMARY Prepares operating rooms for surgery, using appropriate techniques. Provides technical services and assists during operative procedures on infant through geriatric patients, as assigned and directed. ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients/clients served (ie: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric). 2. Prepares rooms with appropriate instruments, sutures, supplies and equipment. 3. Assists the surgical team during operative procedures. Opens sterile supplies and sets up for procedures. 4. Prepares rooms between procedures and after terminal cleaning. Monitors and restocks supplies. 5. Drapes patients for procedures, assists with case as directed by physician. 6. Knowledgeable in surgical cases for all services provided. 7. Shares knowledge of scrubbing to educate / mentor peers and new orientees. 8. Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduate of approved surgical technician program or licensed as LPN in the State of Michigan Skills: Must be able to read and speak the English language. Must be able to communicate in person, and have the ability to deal effectively with a changing environment and be open to new ideas. Must be able to input information into computer programs and maintain patient chart, records, and logs. Must be able to use basic math. Must be able to research information. Must be able to operate diagnostic equipment.
