**Job Description**

- The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position at our Ascension Illinois Alliance provides a unique combination of inpatient and consultation clinical experience.
- The successful APP will see patients on an inpatient service at Ascension Alexian Brothers Rehabilitation Hospital and provide follow-up consultations at Alexian Brothers Medical Center.
- This role will also include outpatient follow-ups in a Shirley Ryan AbilityLab outpatient physician clinic and in a day rehabilitation setting.
- Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) consist of Physician Assistants (PAs) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs).

**Principal Responsibilities**

- Elicit a history and physical examination, assisting the attending physician in establishing a diagnosis, implementing interventions, prescribing medications, therapies, and diagnostic tests, and evaluating patient responses to therapies under the direction of a physician.
- Assess patients using physically and technologically derived data, including the evaluation of diagnostic test results, and document results in the patient record.
- Assemble a medical database that includes health history, history of chief complaint, and physical examination of selected patients, documenting the findings in the patient record.
- Assist physician with ordering medical consultations, therapies, and interventions including medications, diagnostic tests, respiratory care, nutrition, and fluid and electrolyte support.
- Perform and document diagnostic and therapeutic procedures based on the needs of the specific patient population as determined collaboratively with the physician and as approved by the Credentialing Committee.
- Evaluate patient responses to disease processes and therapeutic interventions, and determine the effectiveness of care and the need to alter the plan of care.
- Present selected patients' assessment, diagnosis, and plan of care during medical rounds.

**Requirements**

- Maintain all appropriate licensure and certification.

**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required**

- Master's Degree from an approved APRN or Physician Assistant program.

Job DescriptionThe Research Associate will:<ul><li>Prepares, submits, and maintains regulatory documentation, especially with appropriate institutional review board (IRB).</li><li>In collaboration with principal investigator(s), identified optimal recruiting strategy for assigned clinical research studies.</li><li>Guides research participants through the informed consent process.</li><li>Coordinates all personnel and resources necessary to complete the objectives of assigned clinical research projects in accordance with study protocols.</li><li>Manages all data associated with assigned clinical research projects. Interacts with study sponsors or contract research organizations to address all data inquiries.</li><li>Hosts sponsors or contract research organizations during study specific visits including but not limited to site qualification visits, site initiation visits, monitoring visits, and study closeout visits.</li><li>Assists with contract review and budget preparation.</li><li>Assists with drafting of new clinical research policies and development of standard operating procedures for clinical research.</li><li>Uses computer software and maintains data files necessary to support the objectives of studies.</li><li>Performs all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the SRAlab.</li></ul> Reporting Relationships:<ul><li>Reports to Executive Director, Center for Advanced Clinical Research.</li></ul> Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:<ul><li>Work requires a professional level of knowledge equivalent to that which is acquired through: a) completion of a Bachelor's degree in a behavioral or biological science and a minimum of five (5) years experience working as a clinical research coordinator or similar clinical research role, or b) completion of a Master's degree in a behavioral or biological science and a minimum of two (2) years experience working as a clinical research coordinator or similar clinical research role.</li><li>A working knowledge of good clinical practice (GCP).</li><li>Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are needed to participate as a member of a research team, to exchange ideas, to work closely with numerous professional organizations and facilities and to plan and coordinate project completions. **Job Description**

- Oversees clinical research project objectives, determines appropriate clinical research participant recruiting strategies, interviews potential clinical research participants, conducts the informed consent process, coordinates all clinical research activities according to study protocols, manages all clinical research data according to GCP and sponsor requirements, and functions as project manager on an as-needed basis.
