Occupational Therapist - Per Diem

This position is remote with a required visit to the facility at minimum 1x per month or once every other month. The facility is located in Roscoe, New York. The Physician shall provide professional services to residents of skilled nursing facilities as directed by Tapestry from time to time. The specific duties include the following: Medical Director Services - 8 hours per month The Medical Director shall provide medical and procedural consultation for residents of the Facility in accordance with all applicable Facility policies and Federal, State and/or Local laws, rules and regulations, which shall include but not be limited to full compliance with Title 42, Section 483.75(i) of the Code of Federal Regulations and any applicable state regulations. The Medical Director shall on an on-going and ad hoc basis advise the Facility Administrator of concerns and opportunities regarding the Facility's scope of services and the need to develop or procure future resident care programs, medical equipment and its professional and support staff. Job Summary Works under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist and performs responsibilities associated with the localization of tumors and the administration of radiation therapy. Possess knowledge in principles, practices and procedures involved with the operation of ionizing radiographic and radiation therapy equipment. The knowledge of human anatomy and proper positioning of the patient to provide radiation therapy treatment. Able to perform CT Simulations in accordance with the instructions of the radiation oncologist. Is responsible for patient safety protocols and adhere to departmental policies and procedures. Participates in the department's performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities. Maintains patient work flow and problem solve treatment issues. Have excellent technical and communication skills and shows ability to develop relationships with the staff, patients and families. Upholds NYS Licensure, registration in Radiologic Technology, ARRT and BLS certification. **Radiation Therapist**

Works under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist and performs responsibilities associated with the localization of tumors and the administration of radiation therapy. Possesses knowledge in principles, practices, and procedures involved with the operation of ionizing radiographic and radiation therapy equipment. Knowledge of human anatomy and proper positioning of the patient to provide radiation therapy treatment is essential. **Job Description**

- Administer prescribed doses of radiation therapy under the direction of a radiation oncologist, in accordance with regulatory standards and hospital policies, practices, and procedures.
- Position patients for radiation therapy treatments with accuracy, utilizing image guidance.
- Simulate patients under the guidance of the radiation oncologist and make custom immobilization devices.
- Perform daily quality assurance checks on linear accelerators and CT/simulation.
- Ensure that all applicable treatment information and quality assurance checks regarding the proposed treatment plan are correct before the start of radiation.
- Train and supervise students during their clinical rotation or shadow program; orient new radiation therapists and act as their mentor.
